Andrew Griffith MP, Arundel and South Downs, made a visit to see an art exhibition by children from 21 South Downs schools, hosted by The Arts Society West Sussex. The exhibition at Fittleworth Village Hall is open until Saturday 18th July for all visitors.
Christine Parker, the Chair of the local Arts Society, invited Andrew to a preview of the exhibition. Many of the participating schools are from within the MP’s constituency and have demonstrated their talents before by taking part in his annual Christmas card competition.
The pop-up exhibition is a colourful mix of media types, from paintings to collage, ceramics to cyanotype - a technique using photo paper and sunlight to create images.
The Arts Society West Sussex is a member of the national Arts Society. Run entirely by volunteers, it is committed to projects within the community and supports an active Young Arts programme. As well as regular exhibitions, they also host events with accredited speakers and meet every month.
