Andrew Griffith MP cut the ribbon at a celebration for the Arundel McDonald's, near Crossbush, to formally re-open the redesigned restaurant.
McDonalds at Crossbush Service Station, is owned and operated by local franchisee Carel Venter. He has reinvested into one of his busiest restaurants, creating a contemporary design and layout that seats more customers.
The ‘Convenience of the Future’ redesign promises to deliver a better customer experience with a new restaurant layout and the latest ordering technology.
Improvements have also been made for the staff area, with around 110 employees working at the Crossbush site making them one of the largest local employers. The redesign has included a new crew room, which will create a more comfortable space for them to take their breaks, as well as a larger food preparation kitchen area.
Andrew Griffith MP was delighted to be invited back for the ceremony following his ‘hands on’ shift at the same McDonald's last summer. He cut the ribbon in front of the staff and teams who were responsible for delivering the new fit out.
Carel Venter also announced the restaurant’s new sponsorship of local Wick Football Club, joined by the club's managers Lee Baldwin and Michael Dorrington. Carel praised their community and inclusion values and looks forward to helping the development of the club, with the renamed McDonalds Community Stadium. The Club also has plans for a new 3G pitch which will enable them to train and play all year round.
Carel Venter, who owns and operates 12 McDonalds restaurants in Sussex, said:
“I'm proud to reinvest in our Crossbush Service Station restaurant. The dining area is more contemporary and we now have separate facilities for our dining customers and our careers, leading to a better experience for everyone. It's exciting to see the fresh new look and feel of the restaurant and I'm confident the changes will not only benefit our customers. But also our restaurant team as these will help make their jobs a little easier.
Following his visit, Andrew Griffith said:
“It was great to return to this branch of McDonalds and celebrate the investment and redesign. The new fit out is going to benefit both customers and crew. A happy crew is an important part of the customer experience. My congratulations to Carel and his team.”
